Ambulance and water well appeal update

The two main projects that NIN wanted to accomplish this year have now been completed and are up and running.

Firstly the project of providing good quality Ambulances in the Kashmir region of Pakistan was launched in March this year. Due to everyone’s generous donations we were able to buy one large size vehicle and a smaller vehicle and convert them into ambulance

Both ambulances are equipped with first class facilities including self loading stretchers to international specifications, oxygen bottles, blood pressure monitoring machine and wash facilities. The larger vehicle is also fully internally wired for ECG machines or any other medical equipment which requires a power supply.

These ambulances are now operating and ferrying patients locally in the Kotli region and many trips have also been made to Islamabad ferrying patients for urgent medical treatment. Deceased bodies from the hospitals have been transported free of charge by NIN for those who can’t afford it.

Thankfully so far the running costs and overheads are being met from the funds generated from paying patients which include two drivers, stationery and a small office.

The other project of providing water wells in Kashmir has also been successful. We have built two water wells and a third water well is in the last phase of completion. These water wells are providing clean water for approximately 20 families who would normally have to travel long distances to bring home a few litres of drinking water.

Again with your kind donations we are now helping these families to have the most basic necessity of drinking water (which we all take for granted) provided at home or nearby for them.

Thank you all for the contributions you have made to make our appeals a success within such a short time frame.

Neighbours in Need

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

cropped-cropped-back2-1.pngOur forefathers and relatives came to the West to seek a better life and by the will of god mostly have achieved this and most of us today lead a good fulfilling, prosperous and healthy life. If you talk to or ask the elders, they will tell you that they only arrived in the West with the prayers and assistance of their neighbours. Most of these neighbours still live in these rural villages. The assistance that these neighbours provided was assistance in kind , which was not just financial, but consisted of borrowing clothing, footwear, suitcases and their prayers for our success. This is the humble beginning that most of us came from and now by the will of God most of us are financially secure and content.

From this position with big hearts we all donate to many causes all around the world for the floods, earthquakes and war victims but we never consider or see neighbours in our village, towns, cities and in our own countries, where many of these neighbours or part of their families are not able to afford to support their family or themselves. In our midst their maybe widows, orphans, disabled or someone in urgent need of medical attention or medication.

We assume everyone around us is managing but the truth is if you look around close to you, in your neighbourhoods, in your village, in your Town, in your City and in your Country there will be someone who needs our help. It is against this background and necessity in which neighbours in need works (charity begins at home) to help the above needy people within our villages, towns and cities. With your help, prayers and for a few pence a day donations we can help to improve these people’s lives and give them a better standard of living and for us to acknowledge their assistance and prayers in the past.

The purpose of the charity is to help fight poverty and financial hardship among the elderly, the disabled, the sick, the widows and their dependants living in the South Asia by providing financial support, grants, items and assistance with health care and education.

We are not asking for much, by you donating £1 a week. With this contribution we can help the less fortunate to have a better life, better health, better education and a better future. We can make a big difference with your help and small sacrifice.
